Our Cub Pack meet on Monday nights during term time
In Guernsey and Alderney Cub Scouts is available to all boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 10½ years old who want to join the adventureCubs follow a balanced programme, giving young people an opportunity to personally develop in areas, taking part in a wide range of challenging activities learning to be safe. Why get involved?Cubs gives young people a ‘taster’ of the exciting activities they will do more of in Scouts and enjoy themselves whatever they are doing!
Cub Scouts meet together as a Pack in ‘Sixes’ (small groups) which is run by a team of adult volunteers and assisted by parent helpers. They wear a green sweatshirt, group neckerchief (scarf) and a woggle (which keeps their scarf together). The woggle will normally be of the colour of the six they are in. Some packs use characters from Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book’, as an inspiration for the names of leaders, such as Akela, Shere Khan and Baloo to name a few. By making the promise and following the Cub Scout Law, which is common to every section and acts as a link with the family of Scouts around the world and is an important act in Scouting.
